Our weekend was awesome, except the part of getting up early on Saturday morning and leaving our friends on Monday.
The Dali show was definitely worth seeing. It was also nice to do
something with our son again, who remarkably got up on time that
morning. We toured South Street in Philly after the show. It was pretty
crowded. Suddenly there was this strong wind that blew umbrellas from
decks and trash cans onto cars. All the dirt of the street found its way into my
mouth. I believe it was a small tornado whipping through. People
started to run and to panic. They must have seen this behavior in a
movie and then tried to imitate it.....?
After South Street and a beer we headed to NJ to visit our friends. It
rained very strong the whole way, and the temperature dropped about 30
degree. Ron drove and I took a nap. Pure Ron. That night we watched the
new Star Wars movie. I had low expectations because I heard people and
critiques talking about it negatively. It turned out I didn't fall
asleep and I liked it.
We got to meet Rache’s brother, who had just graduated from college. We
hung out at his place for a huge Memorial Day get-together the next
day. There was sooooooooo much wonderful tasty food. Speaking of tasty,
Bill made us his famous pancakes for breakfast again, yummy. We had
such a great time. Unfortunately, good times always have an end.
And here are some art show pics to enjoy.
The still life contour line drawings with tissue paper coloring were
all done by 4th graders. The room drawings were done by 6th graders,
and the optical illusion projects were done by 5th grade.

Ape Gallery/Dali/and visiting Friends
Here are my precious bronze apes, that took me almost two semesters to create.
I apologize for the un sharpness of the pictures.
This is my first try in sculpture.
...., and this is my second chimp.
This weekend is DALI weekend! Ron, Jess
and I have to
get up early tomorrow morning to be at the gallery by 8:00 a.m. The
trick is to pick up our son from his dorm on the way. He usually sleeps
till the afternoon. You might asked why we are going to a gallery that
early, especially when we have an almost two hour drive to get there.
Well, there were only two choices left when we ordered the tickets,
either 8:00 a.m. or 7 p.m., and we decided on the early one to have
more of the day. This weekend is the last chance to see the exhibit. I
am
excited.
This will not be the only excitement though. After the show and
spending some time with our son we'll hed towards NJ. We are invited by Rache and Bill
for a memorial day weekend. How cool is that.
The only thing about leaving early tomorrow morning is that I am right now in the middle of doing laundry. But it's worth it.
I will soon post some pictures of my students' art show.

Productive Day
I worked on my bronze sculpture tonight again, grinding it, until my
right hand felt like there was something buzzing inside of it.
Since the art building will be renovated during the summer we have to
cut the spring semester short. Tuesday is my last day. That means that
I have to go back tomorrow and maybe on the weekend to finish my
sculpture. The other pain is that I have my wax sculptures I made for
my parents almost finished, but will not be able to pour them into
bronze. I might have to find a foundry now, since my professor isn’t
coming back after this semester. He is retiring. So badly want I take another sculpture class.
The other semi bad news is that my favorite painting professor isn’t
going to teach the watercolor course over the summer. He has a show in
NY at that time. Now I have to juggle my classes around. I’m going to
take the research/methods course now in the summer and a painting
course in the fall.
On another note, the art show in my school, which I have to prepare in
three buildings, is creeping up. I hung up some artworks after school
today. It’s amazing to me that I did all this today.

Kleine Heike
Edit: Now it's fixed.
Today I just want to share something from my past, a picture that had been taken just a couple of years ago (it seems).
